Vencedoras Group's story
The community bank "VENCEDORAS" (Women Who Win) will begin its third term in Pro Mujer as part of the regional office of Collpani. The group is composed of eight members, headed by a director's board with Ms. Yaneth serving as the president. The members of the group run a wide variety of businesses, including car washes, candy stalls, blanket weaving, a chauffeur service, a meat shop, and clothing sales. This loan will benefit the small businesses of Yaneth's group. She said that she's been a member of the Pro Mujer for six months, and that they joined at the invitation of a friend who was a member. Currently, Yaneth runs a business weaving and selling blankets. She started this business with a small amount of savings to help her mother, then later she decided to start her own independent business. This loan will be used to increase her capital through the purchase of wool, which she will buy at the markets in the city of El Alto. After weaving the blankets, she will sell them in her sales location. This work allows her to generate income to maintain her home, as she lives in a with her partner and two children. When asked what she liked about Pro Mujer, she said she likes the health clinic.
