Basilia's story

Bacilia is a member of the group called Fuente para el desarrollo (Development source), located in the city of Samana. This is her eleventh loan, which she will use to improve her house. She has had his business for over six years, she started it with her first Esperanza International loan. After her last loan, which she invested in her business, Bacilia realized the need to build an extra room for her kitchen. With this housing loan she is able to take, and with her business profits, she can pay for it and save for more home improvements. The other members of her group are recommending her for a housing loan to build this room to expand her house with more spaces. With this loan she will be able to buy construction materials like concrete blocks, rods, cement, zinc for the roof, and other supplies. Esperanza International runs a program for their good clients who are reliable in paying back their loans, who have fulfilled the commitment to grow their business and who have shown fidelity in their groups. This allows them to take out a loan to improve the structure of their house at the same time as running their business and attending their group meetings. Bacilia lives together with her long-term partner and their five children. She is also a micro-entrepreneur conducting a Comedor (a place were she sells fried food, like fish). She thanks God, Esperanza International and all of you for this opportunity. In her name and that of her family, she thanks all of you for your support!
