Elsy Noemy's story
Elsy is a 33-year-old woman who has a partner and two children, ages 7 and 10, who are studying. She has no education, and her life partner works in agriculture and day labor. She makes a living in agriculture, as does her life partner. She has been doing this for 15 years, and learned it from her parents. She also provides day labor services on a canal. It takes 10 minutes for her to get to work and she rides a bicycle there. She works from 7:00 am to 11:00 am and receives a salary of $5 a day. She needs the loan to purchase one bag of corn seed, five sacks of fertilizer, and pesticides, to cultivate her crops. She dreams of having her own home. She also hopes to get her two children ahead academically. Thanks to the loan she will be able to have good crop production, which will generate better income for her family, and with her earnings she hopes to make improvements to their home.
