Sisiwegbe Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy spices and other products (biscuits, milk, soaps).

Sisiwegbe Group's story

Sisiwegbe is a group of three people who are friends from the same district and who have created a "tontine" between themselves (a "tontine" is a revolving finance system whereby each group member contributes periodically an agreed amount and this is passed on in rotation to the other members). The representative of the group, whose name is Emilienne (she is the one with her hand raised in the photo) is 32 years old. She went to school very little and is now married to a man called Patrick. The couple has two children. Emilienne lives alone with her children. The couple cover the various household expenses between them. In order to do this Emilienne has been selling spices and various other products (biscuits, milk, soaps) from home for the past 30 years. She gets her supplies in a Benin market. With the goal of building up her business and creating customer loyalty, Emilienne has joined forces with the other members of the Sisiwegbe group to request a first loan from Alidé.
