Leoncio's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy lumber boards and a few construction tools.

Leoncio's story

Leoncio, age 47, is a hardworking man. He and his children have lived at his mother’s house for the past 10 years.

As young man he learned the construction trade, starting out as a basic day laborer. He helped the bricklayers with their tasks, but now he is dedicated exclusively to construction and now has many contracts. Leoncio earns a good income since there are not many experienced builders in the area. He currently has a very important project of building a heated swimming pool for the municipal government. Leoncio was awarded the contract because of his abilities.

For this reason, he will have to supply his own tools for the job, but he only gets paid when the work is finished. “I have already invested a great deal of money in this project,” he says. Leoncio also works as a farmer, growing potatoes and corn. This is his second Kiva loan and he is grateful for the financial support he has received so that he can improve his income. He promises to be punctual with his loan payments. Leoncio will invest 2,500 PEN in the purchase of boards in bulk quantity and a few tools that he needs for this project.
