Asiya's story

Asiya is a hardworking 35-years-old woman. She lives in Lahore, Pakistan with her husband, two sons and daughter. All of her children are studying in school. Her husband owns a butcher shop in the main market which is the only source of income for their family. His monthly net income is insufficient to meet the family's needs. Presently, he needs additional capital to purchase a cow to get meat. For that purpose, his wife Asiya has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to help her husband. As their family expenditures are too much compared to their monthly income and savings, she wants to open a new shop for her husband with the profit amount. As a result, of which they could increase their monthly income as well as savings. Her dreams are for the higher education of her children. She is very thankful to Kiva for such a great help and kindness.
