A loan helped to purchase two dairy cows.
Vidalia Del Carmen's story
Vidalia is 43 years old and is the mother of 4 children. She makes a living tending a parcel of land with her husband. Every morning, she and her husband wake up at 5:00 a.m. to milk their cows, and Vidalia gets ready to take fruits and vegetables into the city center for sale. In the afternoons, Vidalia and her husband return to their land to tend their crops. In order to get the best prices, Vidalia purchases various fruits and vegetables from her neighbors for resale in the city center. The produce she purchases for resale includes avocados, mangos and oranges. With the support from this loan, Vidalia plans to purchase two dairy cows. She and her husband currently have three dairy cows they milk in order to make cheese and cream for resale. She hopes this investment will help her to strengthen her business and improve her family's quality of life as well as their house, which is in very poor condition.
