Safia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy a variety of threads, fancy cloths, sequins and pearls of various colours for embroidery.
Safia is a 38-year-old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is the mother of five daughters and a son. She has been knitting handmade embroidery at her home for 6 years. Four of her daughters also help her to complete her tasks. Her husband drives an auto rickshaw irregularly; he is an irresponsible person and does not care about his children. Safia has to prove herself as a responsible and brave mother. In 6 years she has attained a regular list of customers and makes enough to contribute to the family income. To cope with the increasing demand of her customers, Saira is requesting a loan of 50,000 PKR from Kiva’s field partner BRAC Pakistan, to purchase stock of threads, fancy cloths, sequins and pearls of various colours. She wants to take care of her household expenses with courage. She hopes that this loan will prove beneficial for her and for her family. Safia is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.
