Las Faboritas Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy wool.

Las Faboritas Group's story

The “LAS FAVORITAS” communal bank are starting their Eighth cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Centro Focal de Cascada. The group is made up of 6 members and is led by an executive board of which Señora Romualda is President. The businesses developed by the members are diverse and include: selling food, jumpers, weaving blankets, selling salchipapas (a kind of kebab), selling buttons, clothes, buying construction materials, selling plaster. The loan they receive will benefit these small micro-businesses where Señora Romulada is a member. She has been a member of Pro Mujer for 8 years, at the invitation of her friend who is part of the institution. Currently she has an artesanal business. She says that she learnt her business 10 years ago from a relative. The loan which they will now receive will increase the capital (buying wool) that the businesses in Cuidad de El Alto will acquire in bulk and later to produce what she will sell in her shop area. This form of work allows her to generate resources to maintain her home as best she can, as she is married and has a daughter. When asked what she liked about Pro Mujer, she answered that she likes the training, the loans and the healthcare facilities.
