Anar's story

Anar is 24 years old and lives with his mother, wife and child in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. His mother has retired from work and gets a state pension. His wife recently gave birth and now stays at home looking after her baby. Anar graduated two years ago from university and is now working as an electric engineer at a heat station. He is requesting a loan of 7000000 MNT to purchase vacuum-insulated windows, a low-pressure heater and building materials such as bricks, cement and planks. The house they live in has been deteriorating over the years and in the winter time, wind seeps through walls and frost forms around the windows, shattering them. Anar will install vacuum-insulated windows in place of the old ones and build an extension to his house providing more space and reducing heat loss. The renovated house will enable the family to live in a comfortable and warm place. Also. the family will burn less coal for heating thus releasing less pollutants into air, contributing to the efforts against air pollution.
