Paccha (Nabón) Group's story
The “Paccha” communal bank consists of two male and six female members living in Nabón Canton. This is a cold climate place. It has several spots to enjoy nature and beautiful scenery. Its residents are kind and gracious people who strive to improve their economic situation to move their families forward. They carry out various activities like agriculture, animal husbandry and some also work in the city. They pride is keeping their culture and traditions still alive. One of this group’s members is Rosa, 33. She’s married and has conceived six children. Her first son is married and lives independently. Her second son is in secondary school and her next three children attend the little local elementary school; her youngest is still at home because he’s still very little. Her husband works in construction and the house they live in is theirs. Rosa spends most of her time caring for her children but in order to contribute to household economy she works in agriculture. She grows vegetables to sell and for home consumption. She also raises sheep, cows, pigs and chickens. She will use the money from her loan to buy pigs, chickens, animal feed and seeds. Her goal is to have a larger chicken coop.
