Sokhun's Group's story
Sokhun is 33 years old and married. She has three kids to cater for, two schoolchildren and one small child. To provide the daily needs for her children, she does rice farming on half a hectare as the main source of income. She can save up to 2,000 KHR each day after meeting her daily expenses. With VisionFund (Kiva’s partner), Sokhun is a second-time borrower while her joint member is a first-time borrower. The past loan which Sokhun has fully repaid has better sustained her rice cultivation in a timely manner. Now, Sokhun is leading a group of two to take out a new loan from VisionFund . The total amount of her group loan is 900,000 KHR, of which 400,000 KHR is Sokhun’s portion. She will spend her loan portion to buy two sacks of fertilizer and to plow her farmland. She hopes to earn more income, as much as possible so as she can save some money for future needs.
