Luis's story

Skim through Luis’ Facebook page and you’ll find photos highlighting his style as a caterer in which guests flock to events to enjoy his homemade Mexican dishes. Through his business, Taquizas Los Pistoleros, Luis offers carne asada (grilled beef), tripas (beef intestines), al pastor (pork), menudazo (soup), aguas frescas (fruit drinks), salsas (sauces), and tamales, all served with your choice of a side of rice or baked potato and a variety of drinks ready for delivery. Residing in El Paso, Texas, Luis – who is originally from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico – has one and a half years of experience as a caterer. Along with his staff of four, Luis serves any style of party, but to keep up with his business, he ventured to Project Vida, a community education center, for assistance. Project Vida then informed Luis about nonprofit microlender Accion Texas Inc. Luis applied with Accion and was approved $3,275 to purchase foods and secure catering contracts. His next goal is to hire three part-time employees. Check out his Facebook for a more personal look into Luis’ love for his business.
