Binta's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy bags of plastic slippers and sandals, which she will resell.

Binta's story

This is 40-year-old Binta B. She is married and has three children, aged 20, 17, and 14 years. In 2005, Binta B. established her plastic slippers and sandals business. She began her business because she wanted to support her husband in contributing financially to the running of the home. "I'm self-reliant and independent, and I am not a burden to my husband," said Binta. Her business is located at the city centre, and her customers are both men and women. She opens her business seven days a week and 11 hours a day. She needs a loan of 5,000,000 Sierra Leonean leones (SLL). She will use it to buy more cartons of slippers to add to her current stock. Binta expects that this loan will help her increased her profit by approximately 500,000 SLL. In the future, Binta hopes to rent a shop, so that she can transfer her business there and leave her sister at the stall that she presently occupies. Binta also plans to expand her business and become a supplier to other traders. She thanks you for your support.
