Batzaya's story

Batzaya, 35 years old, lives with her husband, two children, mother and sister in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia. The family resides in its own house on a plot of land. She began her sewing business in 2002 at her home and since 2008 she has been renting work space and sewing dresses ordered by clients. Her skill and trustworthiness quickly enabled her to secure a number of permanent clients. Her husband has the position of electrician at a private company and her two children both go to high school. Her mother has retired from work and gets a state pension. The house they have lived in for so long has been deteriorating over the years and its outer and inner components have become fragile and vulnerable. So, Batzaya is requesting a loan of 7000000 MNT to purchase building and insulation materials such as bricks, planks, cement, fiberglass and foam. Using those materials, her husband will repair and insulate their old house. The renovated house will enable the family to reduce coal consumption thus releasing less pollutants into the atmosphere, which contributes to the efforts against air pollution. The borrower is a very hard-working individual who strives for a better future.
