A loan helped pay for his education.
Daniel is 22 years old and is a student of Economics at the Universidad de Chile, one of the best universities in Chile, and is expected to graduate in March 2014. Daniel comes from a humble family in the northern part of Chile. He is the eldest of two brothers and the first in his family to go to college. Daniel is a very good student and because of his academic performance he has managed to get scholarships to cover his tuition. Daniel's father is a gardener and his mother is a housewife, without scholarships it would be very difficult for his family to send him to school. Daniel knows he has made it this far because of his hardwork as a good student. He is also aware that many others just as smart and hardworking however they did not have the opportunities he had. His dream is to be the best in his field (Commerce Engineering) and help tackle the inequalities in Chile, South America and the world. The Universidad de Chile is offering Daniel a great opportunity to participate in an 5 month exchange program in the United States. Daniel has never travelled abroad but he understands the importance of speakimg English as it is an essential skill in the job market. During this exchange program he plans to complement his skills and learn English. Daniel wants to go but he does not have the money to join the program, so he is asking you to believe in him and help him fulfill this dream!
