Ermelinda Del Carmen's story

Ermelinda is originally from Pueblo Nuevo, Estelí. She started her own convenience store 30 years ago, when she was 16. After selling her bicycle, she used the profits to buy a small amount of merchandise that she sold little by little. As she did so, she gradually built up her business and eventually had enough money to buy more merchandise. This is the only business that she has had. Her husband supports her in her business. She sells her goods in the local community and also sells clothing as a street vendor in surrounding communities. She expects her business to grow and hopes to do so so she can increase her sales and inventory (adding clothes and shoes to her wares). She is asking for this loan to buy merchandise such as rice, oil, soap, lard, corn, and cleaning products. This loan will help her to grow her business, since she will be able to buy additional merchandise to increase her sales. Her future plans include expanding her business and making home improvements.
