Las Esmeraldas Group's story

This is the “Las Esmeraldas” (The Emeralds) communal bank. It has nine members most of them neighbors from the zone. Said group is noted for being responsible, mutually supportive people. Gladys, 41, is married with three children two of which are still dependent. For more than four years she’s been knitting; she makes jackets, shawls, bedspreads among other accessories and she does it to order. Said activity has made it possible for her to earn household income. Gladys is a very hardworking woman who seeks to make herself better every day which is why she attends knitting workshops. She will use her current loan to buy yarn and wool because she has much knitting to do. Her greatest wish is to see her children become professionals. Gladys is second from the right and is wearing a blue tank top and black slacks. Ysabel was unable to be present because of work. The Las Esmeraldas group is grateful for the loan provided.
