A loan helped To buy tools such as axes, machetes, shovels, etc.
María, 41, is a cheerful, enterprising woman who lives with her husband in her own house. María earns a living selling dry palm leaves which are called "shebon" and used in differente communities in the region. For four years she has been in business selling the leaves out in front of her house. Before starting this activity she did not have enough capital to set up her own business so she helped her husband in agriculture until she was able to get economic support. She wants to stay in business and increase sales by extracting greater quantities of leaves to supply to her customers. This will generate more income. This is her fifth loan through Kiva and she is grateful for the opportunity to continue prospering in her business. The loan in the amount of 2,500 PEN will be used to buy leaf extraction tools such as machetes, axes, shovels, etc.
