Perlitas De Franz Tamayo Group's story

“Perlitas de Franz Tamayo” is a Communal Bank that will start its second cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Los Andes Community Center. It is composed of nine members, guided by a directive board presided over by Rosa. The members of the Communal Bank engage in different activities, such selling salchipapas*, selling blankets, selling sweets, selling clothes, selling cosmetics, selling vegetables, weaving blankets. Rosa is one of the micro entrepreneurs forming this group, and she will benefit from the requested loan. She says this is the eighth year she has been a member of Pro Mujer, having been invited by a friend who is a member of the institution. She is currently running a handcrafts activity, weaving blankets. She says she has started this activity out of her own initiative, having learned the weaving techniques. The loan she is now requesting will be used to increase her working capital by buying a sewing machine; she will buy it at the fairs of the town of La Paz to then install it in her workshop. This type of activity helps her earning an income to economically support her household as much as she can, as she is married and she has two children. When asked about what she likes of Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the savings. *Salchipapa is a typical dish composed of sliced pan-fried beef hot dogs or sausages and French fries.
