Aida's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy more bales of used clothes.
Aida lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with seven children and one of them attends school. She is looking after another family member (her mother). She has been selling used clothes in the market at retail for ten years, working six days a week. She generates additional income from rental rooms. She has requested a loan of UShs 2,000,000 from Kiva partner MCDT- SACCO in order to enable her to stock more bales of used clothes to sell. Her challenges include seasonality and defaulters. Her dream is to expand to become a wholesaler and also to build more rental rooms. She joined MCDT-SACCO because of the relatively low interest charged on loans. She resides in a house with access to both electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees, food and paying for utility bills.
