A loan helped to buy corn.
Mahukpego Group's story
The Mahukpego group is composed of three members living in the same house. The group’s representative, Dina Mètohoun, 44 years of age, is the one raising her hand in the photo. Dina Mètohoun did not attend school. Her husband’s name is Ezéchiel. They have six children, some of whom are in school. In addition to their own children, the spouses also have two other children in their care. Dina Mètohoun lives together with her husband and children and, together with her husband, provides for household needs. In order to meet her various expenses, Dina Mètohoun sells corn as her main business activitiy. In addition, she cooks “akassa” [a thick cornmeal porridge], which she sells locally. Dina Mètohoun stocks up at a market in Benin. In order to better meet the expectations of her growing customer base and increase her revenues, Dina Mètohoun, together with the other members of the Mahukpego group, is seeking a sixth loan from ALIDé. Their prior loans have been duly repaid.
