Tauro Group's story
The “TAURO” lending group will start its fifteenth cycyle at Pro Mujer as a part of the Centro Focal de Senkata. They are made up of eight members and are headed by a board where Martha is the President. The members of the communal group have different business such as: neighborhood store, selling fruit, selling food, selling clothes, sewing t-shirts, sewing quilts and skirts. The loan they are requesting will benefit small business owners where Martha is a member. She mentions that seven years ago she became a member of Pro Mujer through the invitation of a friend who is a member of the institution. Currently she has a business selling fabric and blankets. She learnt this business in her childhood and has worked in this field for forty years. The loan she is requesting is to increase capital (buy wool) which she will buy in the markets in the city of El Alto and then she will fill orders from her clients. This type of work allows her to generate resources to maintain her house as she is married and has three children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer she answers that she likes the areas of health and loans. .
