Kadiatou Alpha's Group's story
This lending group was established on 15 october 2012, inaugurated by their village bank. It is composed of women stemming from the same village, who are now on their second loan, and have learned new practices related to saving and solidarity. They are all involved in small commercial activities. Mrs Fatoumata (seen in a special image located on the top right of the photo) is the star lender in the group. She is 53 year old, married, a mother of eight children, including two boys. She is involved in the sale of palm oil and rice, that she purchases in the local markets and resells in her village to individual customers. This new loan will allow her to purchase two bags of rice for 15 000 FCFA, a box of teas, and a 20 liter container of palp oil for 15 000 FCFA. She plans to use the profits from these sales to support her husband in taking care of their children.
