Zamir's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped To open a car service center.
Zamir is 36 years old. He lives in the Chakvi district with his 22-year-old wife and retired mother. Zamir requested a loan from local financial institutions several times for a family business start-up but without any success. His loan request was rejected all the time because of low income and the family’s poor living conditions. He is a car artisan and he works on private orders to earn a small monthly salary. Additional family income is Zamir’s mother’s monthly pension. The total income of the family is rarely enough for covering their monthly expenses. Zamir requested a loan from Credo to start up a family business. He has now been approved for a loan within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and Credo. The start-up loan program envisages provision of business start-up and re-startup credits with soft conditions to rural poor people who do not have access to credit products. These rural poor people are regarded as “high risk borrowers” because of their low income. With his credit Zamir will open a car service center. He will rent a commercial space and buy all the needed equipment to start the business. As Zamir is already very experienced in this field and he is well known among the villagers, he hopes his new business will be successful. The new business initiative, financed with the Kiva Start-up loan, will significantly improve the living conditions of the family.
