Luis Carlos's story
Luis Carlos is fifty-four years old and is married to Alicia, who is fifty-six years old. Luis makes a living selling lollipops, cookies, dulce de leche candies and other varieties of sweets. He has been in this business for five years. He makes his own routes in order to sell away from the small stores in town; he offers and sells the sweets at a wholesale price. He says that he has about fifteen regular customers that buy and order his merchandise two or three days a week. Luis makes sure to buy a little of everything, and there are things that his clients request that he does not sell. Therefore, he ends up losing clients, since they are able to find these supplies in other areas. He would like to have more variety in his merchandise. This is the reason that he is requesting a loan. He will buy everything that he is missing and will therefore have more clients and a higher income. He will be able to provide a better service to his customers.
