Elmer's story

Elmer is 25 years old, married and was responsible for his family from quite a young age. He currently lives with his in-laws alongside his wife and son. Elmer makes a living as a panel beater in a mechanics' workshop. He leaves his home very early to arrive at his work, located an hour away. Elmer's father-in-law helped him get this job after working with him for three years. In the beginning Elmer had a lot of difficulties as he did not know anything about the business. However, little by little, thanks to his determination and responsibility, he has learned the job and improved the services he offers. Now Elmer's customers leave very happy with his work and Elmer is becoming known and is taking on extra work independently. Elmer is thinking about starting his own workshop in the future. With many years of experience Elmer was able to find this stable job and now with the money he earns from jobs on the side, he has been able to buy himself a motorbike for getting to and from work, thus saving him money on transport costs. An enthusiastic young man, Elmer expresses his happiness and thanks for the financial support he has received. This is his first loan with Kiva and he promises to make his repayments on time. This loan of 1500 Nuevo Soles will be used to buy tools that Elmer uses on a daily basis. These include soldering irons, iron and more.
