A loan helped to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland.
Mao's Group's story
Mao lives in a rural village in the Ek Phnom district of Battambang province, Cambodia. She is 46 years old and married with five children. To support her family, she has been working as a farmer who grows rice and corn. Having been in this business for 20 years, she can earn about 46,000 KHR per day to make a living and afford to save 11,000 KHR each day after expenses. Mao has been with VisionFund for seven cycles and completely paid back the past loans which have helped to relieve her family’s burden and improve their livelihood. Now she is leading her group of two to ask for a loan. As the leader, Mao is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland. With this loan, she hopes to grow more healthy rice and corn to increase her family’s income.
