Fortunato's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase organic fertilizer for tending his cacao crops.

Fortunato's story

Fortunato is 51 years old, and he and his wife, Cleofe, live with their two children in their own home. Fortunato has dedicated the past 30 years of his life to organic cacao farming. Before settling into cacao farming, he raised and bred cattle, though it was challenging to locate and return cows to his herd that had strayed out of the pasture. As one of the pioneers of organic fertilizer and manure in his area, Fortunato has been quite pleased with the healthy results it yields in conjunction with his experienced farming techniques. He hopes that an increasing number of farmers will switch to organic manure and fertilizers in the near future. As he expands his farming operation, he requires more fertilizer for tending his cacao trees and producing a high-quality harvest. One of his long term goals is to open a small grocery store in the city center where his wife could work to generate additional income for their family. This is his first loan, and he promises to make all scheduled repayments on time. Fortunato plans to use the support from this loan to purchase organic fertilizer for tending his cacao trees.
