Jaime Arcidas's story
Jaime, 28, is single and has no children; he lives with his parents in Guaranda, Bolívar Province. He’s a member of the “Nuevos Horizontes” (New Horizons) communal bank located about 40 minutes away in the community of Santa Martha belonging to Guaranda Canton. Jaime works in agriculture growing ‘naranjilla’ [a tropical fruit] and blackberries; he also works raising animals like pigs, chickens and cattle to sell. He’s asking for this loan to buy seeds, supplies, manure, fertilizer and urea. With the money he’ll be able to buy what he needs for agriculture. He makes his sales and purchases weekly in Guaranda. The challenges he faces are competition and plant infestations. His dream is to sell more products at a good price. He likes enjoying festivities in his free time. He’s very grateful for the previous loan.
