A loan helped to buy food items for her cooked food business.
Diakhou's Group's story
The Keur Serigne Bara banc villageois has been in existence since December 14, 2008. Its members live in the same neighborhood, and their main business activity is retailing. The two women forming the group have already obtained eight loans and repaid them without issues. They are now on their ninth loan cycle. Diakhou, the group’s representative is 45 years old. She is married with five children, three of whom are daughters. She cooks food for sale. On the phot, she is on the left dressed in a blue outfit. She plans to stock up on basic food products (rice, oil, vegetables etc). She sells cooked dishes at midday and in the evening. This loan of 400,000 West African francs will allow her to grow her financial capacity in order to better manage her food business and meet her customers’ expectations while increasing her revenues. The revenues will mainly be used to improve life conditions of her family and pay for the healthcare and school expenses of her children.
