Shukur's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to pay for special equipment and labor to dig a water channel.
Shukur is a 23-year-old farmer who raises crops such as fruits, vegetables, wheat and corn. He is single and lives with his parents. His brother helps him to continue the family business. Shukur says that the year-to-year climate has become more vigorous than previous years, with especially hot summers and cold winters. In the summer, temperatures reach 105 degrees Fahrenheit, and the main problem in the region is water for irrigation. People are suffering and order special cars with water to irrigate crops, especially in summertime, when temperatures reach 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Raising crops has been his life project for the last four years, and this business brings him stable income, his only financial resource. Shukur is not able to build a water channel for his garden alone. This is quite an expensive process that requires a labor force and special equipment. When he heard about water loans, he was extremely excited and applied for a 2000 AZN (Azerbaijani new manat) loan. He will use this loan to pay for the rental of special equipment like a tractor for making the water channel and for workers who will dig the land.
