Total loan: $650
Puerto Colombia/departamento del Atlàntico, Atlántico, Colombia / Retail
Emilse's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to buy discounted products (staple items): rice, oil, meat, sauces, sugar, milk.
Emilse, 35, has a shop in the town of Puerto Colombia, located by the seashore, where she lives with her partner and their four children (ages 6 to 15). In January of 2011, her elderly father-in-law, who had devoted his life to the store, decided to give it to his son and Emilse to generate their livelihood. In the shop she sells retail items like groceries, snacks, soda, meat, dairy, etc. The business is run by Emilse from 6 am to 9 pm every day, selling items on credit and more commonly in cash, which she buys wholesale at the best deals in the town where she lives. Her main customers are housewives and in general, neighbors, who buy retail items and products that they need for household consumption. She is currently requesting her first loan from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, with which she plans to increase the stock in her store, buying discounted products (staple items) like rice, oil, meat, sauces, sugar, milk, etc. that help her have an assorted inventory and to manage competitive prices.
