La Esperanza Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped buy meat, flour, eggs, empanada rounds, vegetables and other ingredients.

La Esperanza Group's story

The Hope group is in its first loan cycle. The members are very keen to get ahead and reach the highest level of the training program. Four of the women were found to be living below the poverty line after they completed the poverty elimination survey. One of the group members is Sra. Cornelia whose last survey results showed level 1 poverty. She makes and sells empanadas and milanesas (fried foods in breadcrumbs). With the money she earns she is able to help her family. Cornelia is the type of person who wants to give to her family all the things that she wasn’t able to have--that’s why she works so hard. Cornelia is seeking a loan to buy meat, flour, eggs, empanada rounds, vegetables and other ingredients so she can continue making empanadas and milanesas. This will help her earn more money and improve the business.
