Maria Luisa's story
Maria is 62 years old and from Leon. She is married and has 4 grown children. She was only able to complete the sixth grade of primary school. She works selling clothing, cosmetics and silver jewellery. She started in the sales field at the age of 52, selling used clothing as a street vendor. She travelled to the communities closest to Leon to sell. Later she used her earnings from this business to buy new clothing such as underwear for both sexes, shirts, and skirts, cosmetics and jewellery. She is very happy because with much effort and hard work she has been able to grow her business. Her expectation is to continue growing and selling more, in order to become known as an entrepreneur in the sales field. She needs the loan to buy merchandise such as clothing, pants, blouses, skirts, suits, boxers and underpants and also to buy silver jewellery such as rings and bracelets, and perfume. Her future plans include adding new household products. One of her goals is to pay back the loan so that she can request another in order to continue investing in her business.
