Georgina Ancelma's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase ceramics, cement, iron, sand and wooden nails.
Georgina Ancelma's story
Georgina is 57 years old, married and has grown-up children. She is a native of Leon, which is located in the western part of Nicaragua. She is known for being a hardworking, responsible woman, and has demonstrated that in her previous loans. Sadly, Georgina wasn't able to study for a college degree because of a lack of economic resources, but she would have really liked to have been a lawyer. Thanks to her enterprising spirit and her desire to make headway, she has made a living maintaining a cemetery and making tombstones and crosses for the past 34 years. She really enjoys her work because it has provided for her and her family. She plans to use the loan to purchase materials to make the tombstones and crosses, such as ceramics, cement, iron, sand and wooden nails. Georgina is grateful for Kiva lenders who provide people with scarce resources in poor countries like Nicaragua a means to a decent living.
