Yenny Melania's story

This is Yenny's twelfth loan in Las Flores Communal Bank. She likes this group because in every meeting they get away from their daily work routine and can talk with their friends. She lives in a pretty section of the city of Cuenca, which has colonial architecture and friendly, helpful, and warm-hearted people who still preserve the culture and traditions of their communities. Yenny, 33, is married and from this relationship has had three children, ages 11, 10, and 3. Her two older children are studying in a school in the city. Her husband is a mechanic by profession and works in a shop. They don't have their own house, so they live in a relative's house. Yenny spends her time doing the household chores and, to contribute to the household finances, she works in a bakery from Monday through Friday from 8 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon. She's going to invest her loan in her children's studies; she's going to buy books and a computer. Her goal is to have her own bakery.
