Fatmata's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support
A loan helped to buy more local foodstuffs like rice, beans, groundnuts and bulghur.
Fatmata is 42 years old and a married woman with four children, ages 6 years to 20 years old. She runs a local foodstuffs stand in Calaba town, eastern area in Freetown. Three of her children are currently attending school and one is at university. Her husband is a tailor but his income is not enough to take care of the home. Fatmata has been in this business since 1999 and sells rice, beans, groundnuts, bulghur and local foods like sesame seeds ('bennneh') . She also earns income from renting out a house. She says that the main challenge to her business is high cost of transportation within her operational area. She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to buy more local foodstuffs like rice, beans, groundnuts and bulghur. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her to pay her child's university fees. In the future, she would like to be a distributor of local food commodities. She is grateful for your support.
