Andrew's story

Andrew is a 35-year-old, married man. He has two children, six years and ten years old. He describes himself to be a social and talkative man. Andrew operates a retail shop where he sells electronics, such as phone accessories, spare parts, cell phone chargers, and cell phones. He has been involved in this business for six years. His business is located in an urban area and his primary customers are local residents. He describes his biggest business challenge to be insufficient funds for improving the business. Andrew will use the KES 20,000 loan to buy mobile phone accessories. His business goal is to expand his business within five years. He hopes that, in the future, he will educate his children. This is Andrew's first loan with SMEP Deposit Taking Microfinance Limited (SMEP DTM). In addition, Andrew does farming, which increases his business income.
