Reina Elizabeth's story
Reina, 39, is single. She’s worked selling corn tamales, manioc, enchiladas, cakes and soft-drinks, among other fast-food snacks for about 10 years. She learned this activity from her parents who were also in this occupation. Her father is a coffee grower and her mother is a small retailer. The loan she’s asking Fundación Campo for is to buy three truckloads of sand, three truckloads of gravel, 5 quintals of iron rods, 50 sacks of cement, 4 doors, 4 windows and to pay labor costs to build her house. With this investment, she’ll build a brick house because her current one is adobe. She plans to gradually improve it and install basic utilities like potable water, sewage disposal and electricity.
