but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to make traditional clothing by buying material for sewing; and to buy sheep.

Chalmita Ganaderia Group's story

Angélica is 23 and belongs to a group called Chalmita Ganadería and says that they chose this name because there is a settlement called Chalma in their state. Chalma has a saint whom they venerate so that things will go better for them in their daily lives. Angelica says that she has worked for a little over three years as a traditional seamstress and sells her garments in Mexico City and in the tourist spots; there is a monarch butterfly sanctuary near to her community that draws tourists seeking the butterfly and the beautiful landscape year after year. Angelica tells is that she makes cushions, napkins, tablecloths, blouses, bags, and other items. She is currently requesting a loan for the purchase of material so that she can keep working as a seamstress. She will buy materials such as marquice (a fabric), thread, wool, hoops, and needles. She will also buy three sheep to raise and sell. She says that she wants to have this business in order to help her husband to support their children; they have two children in elementary school. She says that this loan will be very useful because she will be able to make her dreams reality and have another business. The other four group members are Beatriz, Esperanza, Sara and Celestina. They will also invest in the purchase of sheep and materials for sewing.
