Shagufta's Group's story

Shagufta is a hard-working 34-year-old woman. She lives in Pakistan with her husband, two sons and three daughters. All of their children are students. Her husband is a government employee. His income is insufficient to meet their family's needs, so Shagufta is trying to help him by sewing clothes at home. She herself is a tailor, and she wants to generate more income by purchasing tailoring products like fabrics and a variety of threads. For this loan, Shagufta as a member of a 5-person group which has requested a loan from Kiva's partner, BRAC Pakistan. This will help her to satisfy the needs of her clients more professionally and to also increase her net income and savings. She will extend her business if she earns a good amount of profit in the future. Shagufta hopes, with the help of the loan amount, to reach her desired net income and to be able to save for their future. She dreams of giving her children a quality education.
