A loan helped to buy one milk cow and three cattle.

Heydar's story

Heydar, 33, is married with three children. He is an internally displaced person (IDP) and lives with his family in Bilasuvar IDP Settlement. He breeds cows and cattle and sells milk and milk products and provides beef to local butchers. Heydar has 6 years of experience in this field, thanks to his father, who taught him them how best to look after cattle. He receives 80 AZN financial support from government each month, but this is too low to cover his family's needs. Heydar usually buys small cattle, raises and fattens them for 5-6 months and resells them at a more profitable price in the local livestock bazaar. He sells milk and yogurt he sells to his neighbors. Milk and meat selling brings in 150 AZN per month. Milk and yogurt, as well as meat, are very popular products in Azerbaijan. People use meat in everyday national dishes as pilau and dolma and always use yogurt sauce. Milk products are considered very healthy and common in everyday life. This is only one income in his family, and it is not enough to cover the basic needs of his beloved children. Heydar applied for 1800 AZN to purchase one milk cow and three cattle. He is a trustworthy client and this will be his fourth loan.
