Protus's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to buy and insure a dairy cow.
Protus is thirty years old, married, and has three children between one and six years old. Two of them are currently attending school. He is a small scale farmer from Kimilili division in Kitale county, western Kenya. His mixed crop farm, which he has been farming for six years, produces maize, beans, potatoes and milk, which he sells locally. He is a passionate entrepreneur and has also invested in a small drugstore in the same region. Protus has made a loan request of 62,400 KES (Kenyan Shillings) in order to purchase and insure a dairy cow. He is positive that this loan will him to acquire a quality dairy cow that will produce enough milk for domestic consumption and sale. The proceeds from the sale of milk will enable him pay school fees for his children and improve the livelihood of his family. He intends to venture into exotic poultry farming in the near future. His biggest challenges in this business are competition and the poor transport system in the area.
