A loan helped to buy fertilizer for her farmland.
Sreymom's Group's story
Sreymom is a 41-year-old married mother of four children, two of whom are dependent on her and still in school. Her family lives in a rural area of the Tbaung Khmum district of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. Sreymom has earned a living by farming rice and raising pigs, while her husband works for others for a fee. She is able to earn about 15,000 Cambodian riels (KHR) per day and manages to save about 5,000 KHR per day after her daily expenses. Sreymom’s group has been with VisionFund for one cycle. Sreymom's past loan, which she successfully paid back, has relieved the burden on her family. Now she is leading her group of two to request a loan. She will use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland and use a portion of it to spend on buying pig feed for her pig business. Sreymom hopes to increase her income so as to keep making good progress in her lifestyle and keep her children in school.
