Magali's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a computer, tables, chairs and beds for her day care center.

Magali's story

Magali is a single mother of a six-year-old boy with special needs. She came from the Dominican Republic seven years ago with a clear goal of becoming a productive citizen. Her son started the Early Intervention Program at the age of two, so she needed to work in something that allowed her to be at home caring for her son. She has always been passionate about education and knew that she wanted to do something in that field, so she decided to open a home-based daycare service. She was able to procure all the necessary licenses and the business has been in service for three years now. She currently cares for 17 kids and employs two women who help her care for the children. Magali looks after her business with passion and dedication because she wants to give the children the same quality care that she gives her own child. Magali is also studying part-time at a local community college in the Bronx, majoring in Early Childhood Education. Her goal is to finish her studies and open a full service day care center. Magali is asking for a loan to help her buy new material and equipment for her home-based business, which will increase the quality of the service she offers. Some of the things she needs are a desktop computer to help school-age children with their homework and for her to be able to do the daily menu online; new tables, chairs and beds.
