Irene's story

Irene lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single with four children, all of whom are attending school. She is not looking after any additional family members. She has been selling clothes in a market at retail for the last seven years and works six days a week. She has no other source of income. She has requested for a loan of UGX 200,000 from MCDT- SACCO to enable her buy more clothes for sale. Her challenges include high transport costs. Her dream is to start buying bales and become a wholesaler of clothes. She joined MCDT because the organization helps women to develop. She rents a house with access to both electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses include rent and school fees.
