but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy ingredients wholesale, like rice, noodles, and potatoes.

La Fortaleza Group's story

The entrepreneurship bank, LA FORTALEZA, is made up of eight members: seven women and one man. The president of the bank is Yamile. She is 43 and married with five school-aged children. She works selling food at her food stand which is in her home. This loan is her third from the institution. Yamile will use this loan to buy ingredients like rice, noodles, and potatoes wholesale, in order to make her dishes. This way, she will be able to offer a greater variety of dishes to her customers. Her reason for asking for this loan is to keep improving her business. Yamile will use the gains to continue buying ingredients and that way keep improving her income. Yamile is a very hardworking person. She is very glad for the opportunity given to her. In many cases, her companions in the group are the only ones supporting their families.
