Samina's Group's story
Samina is a 42-year-old, independent, woman. She lives in Punjab, Pakistan, with her husband, three daughters and a son. All her children are students. Her husband is an auto mechanic who has been running his own shop since 2007. Her husband's income is insufficient to cover the household expenses. Since 2010, Samina has been trying to help her husband by running a boutique. She purchases a variety of clothes from different cities, such as Lahore and Faisalabad, and sells them to customers in Rawalpindi. Now she is interested in growing her business. As a member of a seven-person borrowing group, Samina has requested a loan from Kiva's partner BRAC Pakistan to buy more clothes and sewing supplies. This will help her to work more professionally and efficiently, and to offer a wider variety of products to her customers. She dreams of a better future for her children and of good health for her husband. She wants to live a good, simple, life with her family. Salam, and many thanks, from her to all staff members of Kiva and BRAC Pakistan. Note: In the picture, Samina has a pass book in her hand.
