Evelyn Ivonne's story
Evelyn, 21, is a young, single mother who supports her five-year-old son alone since her son’s father abandoned them and from that moment forward she became both mother and father for him. Evelyn has faced many problems since she was little but she’s always had much faith in herself and above all in God. Since she was very young she learned how to work because she had many problems at home and she decided to strive and gradually with much effort managed to start a bookstore. She spends about 8 hours daily at work and can see up to 15 customers daily. She believes she does well in her store because she’s very kind to customers and always offers quality products at good prices. Evelyn is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given her she will be able to buy merchandise like notebooks, bond paper at wholesale and pencils, among others in order to earn higher income and have a wider variety of goods in stock to continue striving daily to make her greatest dream reality: to give her son a good education and better quality of life.
